Assignment/Closest Pair

About to start on the assignment, not really sure what I think of it yet. During the week's lecture, I did enjoy the closest pair problem. I have doubts about the "15 possibilities" for the dots around the line, seems like it can be a lot less than that, but I guess Professor Heap did say that it could go down to around 6.

Well...that could've gone better

Hmm that midterm... clearly I will need to work on my structuring of proofs. I'll probably write out the base structure for each proof and use that to study instead of just reading examples, seems like it'll be a good idea. The week's lessons about mergesort were pretty straightforward, it'll take some practice to get the hang of but nothing particularly confusing. Feels a lot like a recap of csc165 overall, about a month of classes left so not sure how much further we're going to get. Got 10 page views on the previous post, assuming about 3 were mine and 4 were TA/Prof's that means some students out there actually read these, go figure.

Midterm #1

Overall the midterm was not too difficult, the third question really stumped me but I knew I wasn't really prepared to do the well ordering stuff yet. Really not much else to say, only one class this week because of thanksgiving.
